WHAT INSPIRES YOU MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB?

Having a background in art, it’s inspiring to me to work on beautiful historic homes with high attention to detail and craftsmanship. 

WHAT DO YOU DO HERE? 

I am a carpenter here at Arciform, now a site lead. 

HOW LONG HAVE YOU WORKED FOR ARCIFORM? 

I’ve worked at Arciform since June 2023.

WHAT DID YOU DO BEFORE THIS JOB? 

Before working at Arciform I spent four years in the film industry building sets and doing special effects. Overall I have 28 years’ experience in construction, focusing more on artistic and aesthetic work such as timber framing and finish work. 

WHAT TYPE OF TRAINING/EDUCATION DO YOU HAVE?

I am mostly self-taught. I have taken a couple of timber framing classes over the years, but I’ve always sought out people that I can learn from. 

WHERE DID YOU GROW UP?  

I grew up in a small town on the Oregon coast.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO OUTSIDE OF WORK? 

What I like to do outside of work is creating art, making things, mostly hanging out with my kids, playing with Legos.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF YOUR JOB? 

My favorite part about this job is being a part of building a beautiful home for people to live in and enjoy.

WHICH IS YOUR FAVORITE PORTLAND NEIGHBORHOOD? 

My favorite Portland neighborhood would probably be Sellwood. I’ve lived there for many years, and really enjoyed living there.
