JAMES ORDAGLIA

WHAT INSPIRES YOU MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB?

Oh wow, so many aspects of my job at Arciform inspire me! Here is a little list, to name a few:

  • waking up every day knowing that I'll build, make and create
  • working with smart, kind and crafty co-workers
  • being part of the home remodeling process
  • relationships with clientele and their dogs

WHAT DO YOU DO HERE?

Now a Site Lead, overseeing remodel projects from start to finish. Prior, I was a Carpenter III for two years.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU WORKED FOR ARCIFORM?

I’ve been part of the Arciform team since October 2021.

WHAT DID YOU DO BEFORE THIS JOB?

I’ve worked as an exhibition coordinator for an art studio, managed a vintage furniture shop and even taught yoga. Most recently, I worked as a lead carpenter for a smaller remodel company for a little over four years.

WHAT TYPE OF TRAINING/EDUCATION DO YOU HAVE?

  • BFA in Fine Arts with a concentration in Sculpture
  • AAS in Interior Design

WHERE DID YOU GROW UP?

I grew up in New York, just outside New York City in a small town called Rye.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO OUTSIDE OF WORK?

My wife and I like to take our two geriatric dogs walking in various neighborhoods and city parks. There’s always something new to discover!  We also love hosting friends for a evening around our fire pit and maybe a board game or two. Most other times, you’ll find me working on my garden or spontaneously remodeling part of my house.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE PART OF YOUR JOB?

I love the opportunity to recreate historic architectural details especially custom trim and millwork.

WHICH IS YOUR FAVORITE PORTLAND NEIGHBORHOOD?

I really enjoy living in Montavilla neighborhood, yet I don’t think I have a favorite! I am grateful to work and get to know many parts of our beautiful and quirky city.
