JEFF MEEKER

WHERE DID YOU GROW UP?

I grew up in Tigard and never lived more than 20 miles from the house I grew up in. I was raised a son of a home builder, and started scraping out houses as far back as I can remember (before all those pesky child labor laws). My folks taught all four of us kids an amazing work ethic which was the foundation of all our successes.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE PART OF YOUR JOB?

The best parts of my job are making clients’ dreams come true, from concept to the day I get to hand over the keys. Passing on my knowledge to incoming generations of carpenters that will take pride in their work. Carpenters for over a hundred years have left treasures and notes for future carpenters: a tradition I keep up to this day.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE PORTLAND NEIGHBORHOOD?

It is hard to find a neighborhood in the Portland metro area I haven’t worked in. My favorites are up in the West Hills and the Alameda district. My dream one day is to restore an old mining town, or at least be a part of it.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO OUTSIDE OF WORK?

Outside of work you can find me out in the woods, hunting, hiking, and fishing -or, as I call it, watching the sun rise with friends, because I can’t catch a fish to save my life.
