KEITH SMITH

WHAT INSPIRES YOU MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB?

I love keeping the history of these old homes going. The soul and character they have is second to none in my opinion.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO OUTSIDE OF WORK?

Currently, I’m into old woodworking machines and restoring them. When I’m not doing that,  I’m surely doing something with my young one, Owen, and my partner, Hallie.

WHERE DID YOU GROW UP?

I was born in Mesa, Arizona, but my family moved to sunny San Diego when I was 7 or 8.

WHAT TYPE OF TRAINING/EDUCATION DO YOU HAVE?

Right out of high school I worked as a lubricant technician at a small automotive shop. I ended up going to Universal Technical Institute and graduated with a degree in Auto/Diesel. I quickly decided that wasn’t for me.

My mom was a union carpenter and pulled me into the union. I was hooked!! I worked as a union carpenter/laborer until 2015 when I moved to Portland, when I decided to go into residential carpentry.
